01 - Shoeing & Shoemaking Team Event
Shoemaking Team Event: Four shoes to be made as per judges specimens. Each person must make one shoe each. Shoes to follow on Forge & Farrier. Time allowed: 1 hour 30 minutes. Shoeing Team Event: Shoe the front feet with toe clipped. 3/4 Fullered Straight Bars. Shoe the hind feet with toe clipped. 3/4 Fulled Calk and Wedge Roadsters. Coal Fires. Time allowed: 2 hours 20 minutes. Rules: Open to Registered Farriers. Each team member to make a shoe, trim, fit, nail and clench one foot. Only one team member can work on a horse at a time. Competitors can only enter once. Open to the first 12 teams entered. No points will be awarded towards the Overall Championship. 02 - Apprentice Gas Forging
Make two shoes. One ¾ fullered barshoe out of ¾” x 3/8”, to measure 5 ¼” x 5 ½” to suit e5. Also make one plain stamp shoe with one clip out Of 12 1/2” of 3/4” x 3/8” to suit e5 mustad. (as per drawings) No striker. No top tools & no cutting. Time limit: 45 minutes.

03 - Open Gas Forging
Make two shoes. As per judges. (drawings will be posted on forge & farrier). Time limit: 45 minutes. Note - apprentices may enter only 1 of the gas forging classes. However those apprentices entering the open gas forging class will Earn no points towards the apprentice championship.

04 - 1st & 2nd Year Apprentice Class
Make 2 shoes, one front and one hind. Both to have upright heels. Front toe clip - 6 nails. Hind with side clips - 6 nails. Front 12 1/2” and hind 12 1/2” both to be made from 3/4 x 7/16 concave stock. (Hammer clipped) No bob punches (Open to all unqualified farriers). No striker. (Please note gas forges). Time limit: 40 minutes.

05 - 3rd & 4th Year Apprentice Class
As 1st & 2nd year class but front 12 1/2” and hind 13” ( hind to be heel & feather). (Hammer clipped) No bob punches. No striker. Time limit: 40 minutes.

06 - Open Shoeing Class
Shoe the diagonal feet of a horse. Front feet to hunter style - sloping heels - from concave metal. Hind feet to be caulk and wedge with side clips made from material suitable for horse. No striker. Note - entries restricted to first 50 competitor entries received. (Please note coal forges). Time limit: 65 minutes.

07 - Intermediate Shoeing
Open to those farriers who have never won a 1st or 2nd in a shoeing competition. To shoe one foot of a horse hunter style and make one concave caulk & wedge shoe (specimen as per judge). No striker. (No points awarded towards championship). (Please note coal forges). Please note - if you enter this class you cannot enter the open shoeing class. Time limit: 65 minutes.

10 - Two Person Open Shoemaking
Make three shoes. As per judges specimens (drawings will be posted on forge & farrier). (Please note gas fires). (Contestants can only enter once). (Qualified farriers only). Time limit: 50 minutes.

11 - Eagle Eye
Each competitor is allowed 10 seconds to look at the foot then is required to forge a shoe, of judges choice. No striker. Class split into open & apprentice. Time limit: TBC.
